Good question!. I think, from my various studies over the years, that a pigment is the basic stuff that you make colours from for dyes and paints (like ochre earth, cochineal, lapis lazuli, etc)!. And hue is a colour or shade that you see when you look at an object!. Hue is from an old Swedish word meaning complexion, and one could have said dark-hued for someone's skin or clothes etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
