Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT or XTi!. Easy, inexpensive, adaptable to more than a hundred lenses - big and small, basic 3 frames per second, 8 - 10 million pixel resolution, and very functional!.

(Equivalent to Nikon D40 and D40x; for the Nikon fan)

I'm going to go with the Canon XTi!. It's very affordable for how much camera you get!. Canons have great quality!. I shoot with a Canon 40D!. I tend to stay away from any brands that also make cell phones and televisions!. But that is just me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Samsung S85!. Compact, cheap, great battery life, quite good manual settings and easy to use!. Great first camera for the aspiring photographerWww@QuestionHome@Com
