Don't only consider copper and bronze!.
Brass is a common material for vases where bronze tends to be used for sculture and is a lot heavier!.
Spelter is another composite metal that appears frequently in old ornaments!.
Pewter was also used!.
Re Ebay state you are unsure what it is made of!.

Brass is not magnetic, neither is copper, spelter, pewter or bronze but Iron is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best way to tell is to leave it outside for a while, I know this sounds crazy but bronze doesn't change in look outside while copper will take on a greenish hue (verdigris)!. It will clean off to a good shine with a good brand of polish!. The Statue of Liberty is made of copper and a good example of what happens to this metal outdoors, it won't rust it or spoil it and you may actually prefer the look of verdigris to the original finish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Would help if I could see a picture!. However, this might help you!. Copper has a more reddish tint and tarnishes green!. Bronze is a tannish, brownish, or more golden color and tarnishes a deeper brown!. Generally, bronze is heavier than copper!. Copper can be pounded very thin, and can be cast!. Bronze is generally cast!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If the vase is bronze it will be really heavy in comparison to its size!. Copper has a tendency to go green if not cleaned!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Copper is a metal in itself while brass is an alloy of copper and zinc in varying proportions!. Bronze is a much harder substance than copper!. Copper is a bright orange in colour while bronze is a rich orange/brown in colour!. This is one way of differentiating between copper and bronze!. The hardness and their comparison is another way of finding out between bronze and copper!.

Both are images of the clean metal, if your vase has a patina on it make a small scratch at an unobtrusive spot to see what color the metal has!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
