Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Don't only consider copper and bronze!. Brass is a common material for vases where bronze tends to be used for sculture and is a lot heavier!. Brass is not magnetic,neither is copper, spelter, pewter or bronze but Iron is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The best way to tell is to leave it outside for a while, I know this sounds crazy but bronze doesn't change in look outside while copper will take on a greenish hue (verdigris)!. It will clean off to a good shine with a good brand of polish!. The Statue of Liberty is made of copper and a good example of what happens to this metal outdoors, it won't rust it or spoil it and you may actually prefer the look of verdigris to the original finish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Would help if I could see a picture!.
