The most useful logos are the ones that can be scaled to any size without having to redraw them every time!.

That means vector graphic logos and Illustrator's most well known feature is exactly that!. If a client asks me to create or rework a logo, Illustrator will be the primary tool I use for this!. Once I have the image created and filled as required, it can be made as small as a telephone book listing, or as large as the side of a truck or a wall of a building!. And, I don't have to re draw it every time the client wants a new size or color, or modification!.

Now, here's the thing about Photoshop!. It CAN be done in Photoshop!. PS has vector drawing tools!. It is the "paths" tool, which looks like an old fashioned pen nib!. But, it requires and extra step or two to stroke the path and fill in the solid parts!. Why would a professional create ANY extra steps for himself by using the wrong tool, when the right tool is available!?

So, okay, the guy who simple answered "Photoshop" was just taking a guess!. But, the guy who said BOTH just does not know what he's talking about!. Photos ARE graphics, the same as logos, drawings and other illustrations!. A designer can create and modify an illustration in Photoshop, not just photos!. And SOME illustrations can NOT (or, at least SHOULD not) be done in illustrator!. In fact, for the sake of speed and style, some of my illustations are still done on paper and then scanned into, either Photoshop, or Illustrator for coloring and finishing!.

Please, watch out for some of the advice you may get on Yahoo Answers!. Bona Fides are not required to post a response!. ANY body can say whatever they want on this forum!. Right or wrong!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

illustrator is what i use at my job, we do logo recreation all the time!. its much easier to control and manipulate and unlike photoshop it is vector graphics, which allows you to expand something and never lose its shape or make it pixelated!. photoshop uses pixels so you can never have a perfect circle (or close to perfect)!. you can combine both of course, but i start in illustrator and maybe use photoshop if it needs some other things that i cant do in illustrator, altho you can do just about everything you need in illustrator if you know it well enough!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Photoshop and Illustrator BOTH can create logos, but they can also work together!. Photoshop is for Photos and Illustrator is for graphics!. Experiment!

Hope This HelpsWww@QuestionHome@Com
