You can join the IFPO (International Freelance Photographers Organazation for $69 a year and get press pass, badge, parking pass and a lot more!.

This is legit as I have been a member since the 70's, and it has got me work with Miller Beer, Penthouse(documentary) and DeKypur Snapps as wel as Kris Kristoferson and other entertainers!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is tough to get it all together !.!.!. most of us worked on our universities newspaper and had tear sheets to show when we applied to work with a newspaper or magazine!.

Then armed with the tear sheets, approaching a local newspaper or magazine and we just had to ask to work for them !.!.!. sometimes, if the tear sheets and portfolio supported our claim of being a great news and event photographer, they considered hiring us !.!.!. at least as a stringer!.

This is how I got my first press credentials!. Usually with press credentials, you can get a venue manager or band promoter to issue a event press pass!. After that it is up to you to market the images you get during the concert!. Your experience with the newspaper and all your contacts should get your work published!. Eventually your style and excellent skills as a photographer will move you into the field of concert photography, although you will have to keep your day job at your newspaper or magazine!.

Attend some meetings of your local NPPA or ASMP chapter!.
