Question: Landscape Artists!?
I'm doing an art project on the Seaside and I already know a few artist to include- like Claude Monet and William Turner, but the other landscape artists I know don't really fit in with the topic (Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, etc!.)!. Any suggestions!!? Thanks! =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

A well known french painter (mid 19th c!.) Eugene Boudin did miniature paintings of the seaside: On beach at Trouville http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Eug%C3%A8ne!.!.!.
Van Gogh did paint the seaside very early in his career - He was at that time copying the grand Dutch landscape masters of the past and their pale monochrome palettes,!. He had yet to go to Paris and discover color!.See View of the Sea at Scheveningen, 1882
Oil on Canvas, 34!.5 X 51 cm in Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam http://www!.channel4!.com/culture/microsit!.!.!.
also many British impressionists painted the sea: see names and pics at http://www!.liverpoolmuseums!.org!.uk/ladyl!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was going to suggest Boudin, but someone has beaten me to it!. There are a number of Dutch 17th century seascapes in the National Gallery in London, if you just need sea!. If you mean recreational seaside (as in holidays) I'm slightly stuck, as it's only a concept from the mid-19th century onwards!. I have a feeling that Picasso might have painted beach scenes, and I think there are War paintings of landings on the beach, but that's probably not what you want!. The Scottish painters produced a number, and also the St Ives group!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go on art!.com or posters !.com and do a search on land/seascape artist- and classic artists etc!. You'll see many more-they have thousands of art posters to look at-its a good way to get ideas and basic info-Www@QuestionHome@Com
