Are you talking about Jews in Israel - no depictions of objects at all!. Strictly forbidden as painting was counted as making images!. Fabric was certainly dyed all over the world!. Appliqué was used to make patterns on African and other costumes!. The phallus was an important symbol to many cultures, including the Romans and Greeks, so it may have been used somewhere!.
