Professional photographers use all sorts of cameras!. The body of the camera is of secondary camera, the lenses and the abilities of the photographer make most of the difference!. To state tht one camera brand is better than another is nothing more than an opinion!. When Nikon came onto the film market, it came to capture the professional market!. The whole thing was nothing more than a marketing event - flashy advertising and special promotions!. Their lense are no better than any other brand and may well be inferior to many other brands!. If someone is going to tell you that this camera is better or worse than the other, ask why! Camera is the same word as Chamber is in English, all the camera is is a box, a black box!. Part of the reason that people are recommending Nikon is that they have stayed with the same lens mount since the beginning!. While that might be noteworthy, that does not mean a lot to the digital user unless he has a heavy stock of old Nikon lenses and wants to put up with the hassle of working with those, figuring out the factors on it, etc!., so that you can take pictures!. Stupid reasoning! Lines like Minolta, Olympus, Ricoh and other Japanese manufacturers have been making cameras much longer than either Nikon or Canon and their products are very high quality today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The list above me is a great list of cameras, but it includes some really crappy cameras!. Great brands for pro cameras typically include: Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Leica, Hasselblad, Rollei, Bronica Really good brands would include: Sony (Minolta), Olympus, Sigma, Contax I'm not getting into exotic stuff like view cameras, because if you were into that, you'd be answering this question instead of asking it!.
