Question: Question on my photos!?

I am 14 and aspiring to become a photographer!.

First of all, in most of your photos of Deens and especially the flowers, you are way too close to the subject!. In almost every flower picture, you are cutting off the edges of the flower!. In the shots of the child, you are cutting off the arms and legs!. Artistically, I don't see anything other than the usual pictures anyone would take!. I did see one I liked, of Deena in a dark hood, with a pier disappearing off into the background that I thought was nice!. also, you have one of the child on a beach, watching the wave come in, and NOT looking at the camera, which you need to tell the models!. I am glad you want to become an artist/photographer, but you really have to be trained at it and it takes years of shooting to become really good!. I recommend taking as many photography courses as you can fit in, but also basic art classes like "composing", arranging still-lifes!.!.!.your art/photography teacher would tell you!. Look through a school catalogue and see what the required classes are for a degree in photography!. But that is the biggest thing, so far, is to back away from your subjects a bit!. I am not a "paid" professional, just a hobbyist, but I did take college classes in photography and love it!. I've been a pro for over 30 years, I train and compete with other pros!. I have to say that although I would not mistake your work for professional, that you are far better than most adults who have been shooting the amount of time you have!. Keep at it, join a club, keep learning!. I think you have a natural ability that needs refining!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

we share exactly the same dreams, and somewhat similar styles! i beleive all you need to do is expiriment with lenses and exposure and black and white or sepia and you'll have more of a variety!!! bu other than that you do amazing work!

Most are really great of the ones i looked at!.!.!.flowers!. Try taking side angles or shots from below!. I seen the same view over and over!. on a few try to be more centered unless it is suppose to be off make it distinguishable!. not so great back ground on some!.!. my dad is a photographer but he is an action sports photographer but he has a friend that does still photographs one tip of advice he told me is to have the proper flash and have a steady hand to produce the perfect imageWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think your flower pics are better than your people pics!.!.!.!. dont get me wring they are all pretty good, but some of your friend have to much going on in the background!.!.!.!. but i think you will do very well in the future, jsut keep at it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why not try to use a different balance to your pictures (i!.e!. don't always have your subject in the center)!?

For 14 years old you are doing very well!. I am a photo lab manager, so believe me when I say there are many many adults who can't touch you in style and image content!.

Now, although you have nice pictures for your age and experience level, your pictures are not professional looking, and you are not ready for National Geographic!. For the most part, they are snapshots!. Most are well focused and the exposure is mainly in the ballpark!. But you are still mostly snapping pictures rather than making images!.

My favorite of all was one of the tulip pictures!. Very nice color and contrast, good and sharp!. What was missing was composition!. Most of your work has the image too centered!. A subject in dead center works sometimes, but usually an image is more dynamic if the subject is at a natural intersection!. This is called the "rule of thirds", and it is one thing to be aware of when you are composing your photo!. There are lots of other helpful compositional tools, like negative vs positive space, leading lines etc!. I suggest taking a class if you can, and getting a book or two on beginning photography!. Learn some technical and artistic stuff and apply that to your photography!. Look at light and how it changes throughout the day and seasons, learn how to use light to get the image you're after!. Keep learning and practicing and I believe you will do well with your photography in the future!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

#20 of the random people album is artistic!. To me photgraphic art is finding the perfect time, light ,angle, etc!. to take a picture!. A lot of the rest are too plain and simple (no offense)!. The pictures are good, just not very artistic!. Take some rare pictures!. Things a lot of people don't take pictures of!. Take pictures of interesting things!. You want people to look at a picture and think and wonder many different things!. Or you want the picture to have "feeling" like #20!. The feeling is love!. That picture makes me think!.!.that guy loves that little girl, and look how theyre smiling!. The other pictures make me think "flower"!. Thats all!. Being in the right place at the right time is very helpful!. Have you ever seen something that intrigues you!? Take a picture of it!.

EDIT: #22 of Flowers is good, but a lot of the other flowers, you cant even see the whole flower!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
