Question: Is there any way to save a scratched negative!?
I got my photos developed at CVS (which was a really stupid idea) because I could not wait to see my photos and when I picked them up, they all had one long scratch on them!. You can see them on the photos too!. Is there anyway to save them!? The scratch is not that bad, but it is still annoying!.

Here is one of the photos from the roll of film:

That is terrible service!. I think the easiest way to fix these would be to have the negatives scanned - once they are digital files it is straightforward to retouch scratches!. Maybe if you complain loud enough you can get that lab to cover the cost of scanning for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes this is very annoying but it may not have been their fault!?You might have some grit, dirt or somthing else in the back of your camera which is affecting the film plane and is causing a continous scratch-check the other photos!. If it is in the same place on all of the images or most of then then their is a good chance that this is the reason!. if so then you need to give your camera a good clean!.
How to remedy this problem!. A skilful retoucher can either retouch the negs or preferably retouch the prints and then rephotograph them getting you another set of negs and improved images!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i cuss and swear, that doesn't help either,!.!.!.
and yes i also learned the hard way to get my developing done somewhere where they refresh their chemicals once in a while and someone that cares will handle the film!.
you get a star, maybe somebody will know something!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We used to use nose grease on black and white in the dark room, but I believe they still make a scratch filler!.!.!.CVS should do it for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
