The cheapest, and easiest way is to use the software that came with your camera!. It will at least convert them to JPEG!. Gimp works well, but you must have a plug-in that is similar to Adobe's camera RAW plug-in for photoshop!. There are many open source RAW conversion plug-ins for Gimp, a popular one is called UFRaw!.

What program came with your camera!? If your camera shoots in RAW, then the software should be in the "box"

If not, Photoshop Elements 6!.0 has a plug-in available that will convert RAW to JPEG or TIFF files!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
