Question: What do you think about artists!?

According to the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, all art is a form of imitation or
representation of nature (mimesis in Greek)!. For this reason, painters for Plato were
not involved in an intellectual activity that led to the knowledge of the truth; instead,
they deceive us by representing the external appearance of things!. Discuss whether
artists just represent the world in this way, or play a more significant role in society!?

Francel!.!.!. You are certainly profound in your question! Perhaps a little deeper than I care to go!. However, I have painted for many years, and am acquainted with hundreds of artists!. I do not know anyone who has given a thought to representing the world in the manner you state!.
Art is simply to be enjoyed!. Some earn an income by this enjoyable profession!. A bad day painting is better than a good day on any other job!.
I believe we are all artists in some form if we choose to be creative!. Don't try to over Analise art, just love it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
