Question: What's the cheapest photo-editing program that!.!.!.!?
would let me actually remove parts of a photo!? I wanna remove a power line from this photo here:

http://www!.flickr!.com/photos/sir_hound/2!.!.!.

I tried to angle it where the branch took up as much of it as possible, but I find the ground cable distracting to the theme of solitude and loneliness I'm trying to convey!.

So what's the cheapest route to go where I could easily fix this!? I tried using paint (the program that comes with Windows), but it was SO time consuming, and you could still see where the line had been taken out!. I'd like something that lets you take one part of the photo and overlap it onto another part (like photoshop does), but without paying for a lot of stuff I'll never use (like I would with photoshop)!.

Any help is appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are right about Photoshop CS3 having a lot of features photographers never use!.

You can buy a Photoshop Elements program for under $100!. When you compare that to the investment you have in your camera and computer, it is not a huge percentage of your total investment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I teach multimedia in a college and I tell my students to try gimp!. It is a free open source program that may help you!. It is similar to photoshop, however it does lack a few bells and whistle but it should work for what you are trying to do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Gimp!. It's free!. Use the clone brush if it's got it, and keep the brush size small and low opacity to begin with!. Work it out slow!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
