I have a 105 F2!.8 macro lens, and I love it more than any other lens I have!. However, I am finding that it is very specialized, meaning it is for macro and only macro!. Where as they also make a 60 mscro, which does amazing macro as well, but it is still wide enough that you can do a few random semi-wide shots too!. My friend has the 60mm, and he loves it!. So as much as I love the 105mm, I would have to reccomend going with the wider macro, in this case the 90, simply because it is slightly more universal; not much in this case, but you know that if you buy the 105, you are going to find this amazing picture that the 90 would have been better for and it vanishes before you have a chance to shoot it (personal experience, lol) where as with the wider one, you could shoot it, and if there is a close up that you see you can shoot it instantly, and the crop later if you feel the desire too!.

All in all, I would go with the wider macro lens!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This depends on what brand your camera is--best to stay with the same brand!. The 3rd party ones are out there and you can read reviews at Popular Photography!. For example, this is for the Sigma 150 mm http://www!.popphoto!.com/cameralenses/427!.!.!.

I had the Canon 50 mm f 2!.5 Macro and upgraded to the 100 mm Canon f 2!.8 one!.

100 mm Canon

Both are very sharp--and are suitable for other uses, too!. So it's not just for close up photos!. Like this (100 mm one)

One thing I should mention is if you use the 50 mm one v!.s!. the 100 mm--you will have different working distance!. This means for the similar photo of a flower, the 100 mm one gives you more room to work as you're further away from the subject!.

The difficult part is it's not so easy to hold it without movement!. I think Nikon makes one with IS--but it's not cheap!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
