I'm guessing you heard this at a camera store!? Don't listen to those people who tell you to use a different filter!. They are just trying to scam you into buying another filter!. I never take mine off and have never had any problems!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The same filter works for both!. The filter you need to worry about is a polarizer!. The old ones for manual focus lenses were linear polarizers!. The circular polarizers work for the auto focus lenses!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've never seen UV filters shown as specific to digital or film cameras, so I would think that you can use the same filter for either!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As long as it is the same mm thread and a high optic (good quality filter) then no worries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You may use the same UV filter on either a digital or film camera!.!.!.as long as it fits!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
