ramp up the contrast and saturation!. And add some extra colour to her eyes!.

Try photographing the cat by focusing on the eyes and using a really large aperture (small f/number) to make the rest of the image out of the depth of field (will be blurry)!. That'll make the image look more like a portrait!.
