What kind of paper is good for photos?

Question: What kind of paper is good for photos!?

I am compiling a "book" of photos (several pics on one page) and I want to know what the best paper is for this!. I'd prefer good quality over not-so-good quality AND something that will last for years and not yellow or fade!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you printing this yourself!? If so, I recommend rethinking that strategy!. There are better archival processes coming out of a professional print shop/lab than an inkjet printer!.

Another option would be to look at having a book published through some place like MyPublisher or MPIX!. They have quality products, great reputations and prices are very good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Make sure it says Acid-free and/or Archival on the paper or package!. A lot of scrapbooking paper is made this way now , but always make sure whatever it is, it is labeled accordingly!.

If you mean the paper to actually develop the photos on the same should apply!. In traditional darkroom developing, fiber-based archival paper is used!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have lots of options - definitely don't buy the generic store brand photo paper or other inexpensive papers because they won't last!. The colours will fade out!. I've had the best luck with Kodak and Epson!. I work at a professional studio and we print on Kodak matte for best results!.

In a book format both of these brands will last decades!.
