Question: Do you like Marcel Duchamps paintings!?

I do!.
There is a wide variety of art that Duchamp made, most notably "Nude Descending a Staircase" and the found art or readymade sculpture of the urinal!.
He also very famously penciled in a mustache on a print of DaVinci's "Mona Lisa", adding a cryptic and possibly obscene acronym at the bottom!.
"Nude Descending a Staircase" is a wonderful depiction of human movement, foreshadowing the Italian Futurist movement, wherein a schematic view of the changing position of the subject is captured on one surface!.
And, yes there is an eroticism to found in a number of his works!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a hard time enjoying most pieces by Duchamp based mostly on my distaste for his character!. Duchamp seems incredibly arrogant, particularly with his "readymades" and LHOOQ!. While he did produce some interesting work, most of his pieces make him little more, in my eyes, than an appropriation artist!. One can't deny his influence though and for that I think he is worth studying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
