always send as it is!.!. never remove unless an expert does this for you!.!. oil takes 20 years at least to dry!.!. any oil painting younger than 100 years should never be rolled!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Take it off the stretcher strips, CAREFULLY roll it into a cylinder and ship it in a HARD fiberboard tube available at art or architectural supply catalogs!. Have your buyer take the tube to a local artist or framer in their area to restretch it!. If you want to ship it stretched, you will have to build a crate and ship it UPS or some ground carrier IF they will take something that large!. Some "Wrap and Pack" places will do it for you but they will charge a FORTUNE I am talking hundreds and hundres of dollars!. The tube is the way to go unless your buyer has real deep pockets and money is no object for them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree!.!.!.don't take off frame, wooden crates are best, but if you can't afford!.!.bubble wrap and double box!.!.we hate peanuts - bad for the earth!. I guess bubble wrap isn't so good either but it can be recycled!. One more thing copious amounts of insurance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
