don't make it like Disney's movie at all!. !.!. HCA should have all the credit for that story not Disney!. Perhaps a very dreamy/mermaid perched on some rock in the sea looking towards the shore at a prince strolling the beach!. He has no clue he's being watched but you can see the pain in her face and body language!. use lots of blues and cool colors if you use color!. pay attention to the time of day you draw too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

These are some ideas to represent the theme of the movie: sacrifices must me made in life in order to get what you desire!. (In this case Ariel sacrificed her life with her family and her life as a mermaid for love)!.

Option number one:

Why don't you paint a picture of Ariel, the main character wearing a wedding dress (which symbolizes that she has met her true love) starring at a pond or fountain before her where in the reflection she sees her true self, a mermaid!. This resembles that she made the sacrifice of giving her life up as a mermaid!.

Option number two:

Or you can do the same thing but make the mermaid Ariel in the reflection reaching out off the water to grasp the hand of the Ariel in the dress (The Ariel in the dress knees would be slightly bent)!. This shows that she is the same person and is still somewhat connected to her former self!. It also shows how she realizes there was a sacrifice she made and that she might sometimes wish that she could reunite with her family!. The dress symbolizes the marriage and the mermaid in the reflection of the water resembles what she gave up!. if you don't want to make the hands touch you don't have to!. If the two Ariel's are trying to reach for each other but fail, it just shows that she realizes that she can never become her former self again!.

Option number three:

Or you could make the Ariel in the wedding dress bending down and touching the surface of the water!. Her reflection (her mermaid self) can be touching her hand from underneath the surface and it would resemble the same thing as option number two!.

Hope this helps and hope it's not confusing! Good luck!

Tips for painting:

- include tints and shades to make it look realistic
- use circles and ovals to create the body
- mix colours to make look realistic
- use internet to look up pictures for objects to help with colouring and shading (ex: dress)Www@QuestionHome@Com

What about the mermaid emerging from the water, legs extended but looking back to her family under the sea!.
Or she could still be under the water, looking back but with one hand out towards the prince!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Draw Flounder!
or the mermaid looking all sexi in the water straight on or to the side where it looks like she's swimmingWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well, you need to be a bit more specific with your question!. It is pretty general!. Do you need scenes!? Advice on color!?
!?!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

you could draw her half in water, half out!.
her fin could be in the midst of transforming into legs
draw her family under the water extending their arms toward her
and the guy on land reaching towards her
then the mermaid clutching her heart or something!Www@QuestionHome@Com
