Since 1984, the statue of Pysche by Pierre-Bernard Prouha has decorated a fountain called in Toulouse, France. I believ its name is the Fountain of the Closed Well http://www.toulouse.fr/fr-32/tourisme-to...
Prouha's name is included a list of artists living in Montmartre betwen 1800-1999.
A photograph of a sculpture by him by Edouard Baldus, a 19th c. photogapher, is in the Musee Orsay (it is part of the decoration of the Louvre) scroll down to Fermete (steadfastness) see http://www.musee-orsay.fr/fr/collections...
I cant find anything else about him. If you believe that you have an original piece by him then you it would be worth having the piece valued. Contact one of the large auction houses - Sothebys, Christies etc. - and they will, in the first instance, ask for a photo. They value free of charge in the hope that you will sell with them.
