Why do people with blue eyes have really bad red eye when a picture is taken?

its no different then brown or green eyed people, its just the closer you are to looking at the lens, the worser your red eye will be, u can fiz that on teh computer though, so it doesnt really matter.

I like to believe its because they are little more EEEEEEEEVEEEEL!

but really...though everyone gets it, I think blue is because they reflect more light.

By and large people with darker pigmentation came form sunnier climes than those with lighter hair, skin and eye colour. I'm only guessing but I'd suggest that if you come from sunnier climes your eyes may tend to be slightly less sensitive to bright light... implying slightly narrower pupils. Which would mean less likelihood of getting red eye via illumination bounced off the blood vessels at the back of the eye.

Is that more or less what you were getting at? It's not what I've seen myself, but I tend not to do many direct on camera flash exposures nowadays... could be an interesting theory anyway.

Maybe they just take more drugs than brown eyed people so their pupils are more dilated!
