Well!.!.!.it honestly doesn't matter, to tell the truth!. Alto, mezzo, soprano!.!.!.I'm willing to take on a challenge!.
I would like something that's not done too often - BUT also easy to find the backing track for!. If that's possible!? haha
Nothing from Wicked, Rent, Les Miserables, etc!. since I've already done a lot of those!.

"now that i've seen her" is VERY challenging, but if you'd rather have a good acting song, "I'd give my life for you" (Miss Saigon) is absolutely beautiful!
As for other songs!.!.!.!.
"Memory" is great, but is slightly overdone
"Diva's Lament" (spamalot) is very funny, but you'll have to change some of the language!
"Nothing" (A Chorus Line) is my fave song!
"Climbing Uphill" (Last 5 Years) is also very funny, but you'll have to change some language!.!.!.!. hehe
"No-one but you" (WWRY) is lovely, but might be overdone
"Green Finch and Linnet Bird" is very tricky, but if you work at it, it'll be fab :)
"Somewhere" (WWS) is lovely, but doesn't show much range
"Fine, Fine Line" (Avenue Q) is really meaningful, but kinda quirky ^_^
The solo songs from witches of eastwick are brilliant, and will really showcase your acting and singing
"My New Philosophy" (YAGMCB) is a great song for any young girl to have in her rep
"Miss Byrd" (Closer than Ever) is really rangey, and tricky to act, but i wouldn't advise it to anyone age 13 or under ;)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here's a great site that can help you choose!. Backing tracks are okay, but you'll make a bigger impression if you use their pianist and do it live!.

And it SHOULD matter if you're an alto or soprano!. There's nothing worse than somebody singing too low or straining to hit notes that are too high!. Make sure you have the music in the right key!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some good songs that spring to mind are "Someone Else's Story" from Chess, "Stars and the Moon" from Songs for a New World, "Will You" or "Around The World" from Grey Gardens, "The Beauty Is" from The Light in the Piazza, and "Not For The Life Of Me" from Thoroughly Modern Millie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
