You'll probably have trouble getting an agent to take you as a client unless you have experience, but if you get involved with your local theater you'll have a good start!. I suggest you contact the theater and inquire about acting classes, since many theaters offer courses taught by their own actors!. If they don't, they'll still be able to recommend a teacher!. And if you volunteer at the theater while you take classes, you'll become a really familiar face with all the regulars there and be taken more seriously when they're holding auditions for shows!. A lot of young people lack the commitment, so volunteering shows you're dedicated!. Once you've appeared in a few productions, you'll have the resume you need to get an agent!.

Another advantage of being involved in local theater is you'll network with actors who do stage, film and commercial work!. Since lots of movies and commercials shoot on location, casting agents often hire local actors to fill supporting and extra roles!. They usually contact theaters in the area where they'll be filming to get candidates for those roles, so if you're already active with the theater, you'll hear about the auditions!.

Almost everyone you see on television and movies started in theater, since it's the best place to learn the craft of acting and gain experience that opens up a world of possibilities!. Hope this helps and good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The cost of headshots depends on the photographer that you go to and the number of pictures you want!. They could run you back a couple hundred bucks easily!. An agent is kind of pointless unless you live in LA or NYC!. A lot of the bigger companies will post casting calls on their website!. NBC, Fox, and so on all have sections of upcoming casting calls and if there are any happening right now!. They also have a way where you can make a 5 minute video showing your personality and you send that in as a way to audition!. It beats paying for an agent!. Maybe for summer break you can talk your parents into taking a trip to LA and try to find as many auditions as possible and do your best!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
