If you're doing it because you love acting, then you'll do just fine! You just have to get prepared to work and fight for it!. Acting is a competitive field, even in college, so anything you do now can put you at a higher advantage when college rolls around!. Pick up dancing!. A lot of musicals involve dance, and if you already know the basics, then you will also know how to practice properly- even if your instructor is not there with you!.
Look up really good colleges in the area (or the closest one to you, even if it's really far away) and contact their performing arts departments and ask them about their theatre program!. Write down some questions ahead of time on a piece of paper so you won't forget any that might have been really important!. Ask them if their major is Theatre, or if it's Acting- or if they have both maybe as minors!.
Don't forget that Hollywood isn't the only acting business going on!. There's also Broadway! Think really hard about which one you want to persue!. If you want to do both, then more power to you!. :)
The chances of becoming famous are growing slimmer everyday!. Nowadays, to become "famous" you must be a size 0 and weigh less than 100 pounds!. Me, personally, I think that's a load of crap! Unfortunately, I don't recruit actors/actresses haha!
Honestly, you must be ready to suck-up and impress the people who are running the audition!. Whatever you feel is your strongest skill, you have to find a way to enhance that so that that feature makes you stand out among the crowd!. also, be ready for plenty of interviews that are hit-or-miss!. If you say one wrong thing, you could be cut instantly- regardless of your talent!.

Good luck! I hope you continue with your dreams!

u had me until famous!. If you want to be famous you won't make it too farWww@QuestionHome@Com

if you keep letting people run over you!.!.!. no!.!.!. if you should demand adamantly (that means no compromises) that they give you drama!.!.!.!. they will!. seeing as you are 16 it would be wise to get a job so you can pay for acting class, and obviously you have to be a good actress or at least better then the rest!. and tell your mom, because "hint hint" does not always work, she might help you, but you shouldn't not count on it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Forget the Fame!.
If you like acting and want to give it a try and see where it leads!. Enjoy the acting!. Hope for a career, but enjoy the acting!.
