OMG! i was in that play last year!.

There is a guy who pretends that he has a cousin named earnest so that he can leave town whenever he wants!. another guy says he is earnest so that he can go into town whenever he wants but not reveal his identity!.
The guy with the 'cousin' has an neice [!?] and they get all confused!. two girls fight over the guys because they think they are talking about the same guy when they say they love him!. then they realize that a 'trick' was played on them, when really it was just a misunderstanding!.

If you are not authentic while acting the performance will be boring and people are less likely to enjoy the performance because they cannot relate!. So if you are in a earnest mind set then you will probably be able to pull off a believable performance making it an enjoyable performance!.
