Even though a character may be nothing like you are in every day life, the most realistic of actors pull a part of themselves into the character and the emotions the character feels!. Don't try too hard to be like somebody else, react to whatever situation the way that you YOURSELF would react to it!.

also, if a scene is a crying scene, let the crying process develop a little!. Don't go from not crying to violent sobbing, you know!? And if you do get to the point of sobbing, if it's called for, if you're still talking you have to make sure your words are still clear!. If the person watching you can't understand what you're staying because you're crying in such a crazy way, it'll just look silly!.

If you're doing a monologue, don't move about too much, walking-wise!. Hand movements and gestures are the key to getting your point across!. Keep your eyes focused on one thing, or the "person" you are talking to, in other words, don't let your eyes wander!. Imagine them in front of you!.

also, when reading lines, don't keep your voice in just one tone, unless your character calls for it!. Feel free to move it up or down when necessary!. Many have trouble with either keeping their voice very bland or too high!.

Just put yourself and your honest emotion into your acting, and when auditioning, one of my favorite tips is to find the humor in your lines!. If you make the judges laugh, they'll remember you above everyone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
