the use of exposition was similar, that in what we have available to us today (lighting sound, etc) was not yet invented!. playwrights depended very heavily on the actors to give a clear desciption of where they are, what was going on, and what time of day it was!. both greek and shakespearean drama used this device frequently!.

the only difference being that greek drama typically employs the chorus to announce these bits of information, wheras shakespeare incorporates it inot the dialogue of the ply via the actors partaking in a scene!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think (sorry if I'm wrong but this is what my teacher told me I think) greek theatre was very like, brutal!. I belive when they killed people in the script, they used old prisoners and actually murdered them on stage!. And you could say the different staging they used, like shakespear was it an amphitheatre!? oh well that doesnt help at all!.!.!. definitely the language would be an obvious one lol!.

type into google differences between shakespear and greek theatre and see what it comes up with :P lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

ok i may be wrong but one difference between greek and shakespearean dramas is that in greek dramas the actors wore masks, there was only one scene, and there were no sub-plots!. In Shakespearean dramas the characters were of royal blood, there were several scenes, and there were some sub-plots!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Both dealt with large, human themes and emotions!. Bigger than life!. The difference in my opinion is that one (Greeks) is not 'actable' and Shakespeare infinitely is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
