Question: Question on acting experience!?
i am fourteen years old, and i really want to start acting!. Classes for acting in my hometown require $80 a month!. My dad said i can take them when the economy gets better, cause my mom is currently out of work!. For christmas i am getting books on acting, and currently reading Breaking into acting for dummies until i get the classes!. Will studying/reading these books help land a role with no professional experience!? Can i book a role with NO EXPERIENCE at all, but being a good actor!. please help, i will really appreciate it very much! also feel free to list examples of actors who landed roles with no experience!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you read these books and practice then that will count as experience! you dont need acting classes to say youve had experience, just by knowing about acting is good! practice and practice though, if you have brothers or sisters ask them to help you and if you really want the acting lessons prove it to your pearents, i always used to put on plays and shows to my mum and dad ! but no you dont need experience to audition and stuff like that! somtimes people even like it better when theres no experience because they need more natural actors! if you look up auditions some of them say 'no experience needed'

hope this helped

Don't be lulled into thinking that only professional work or 'classes' count!.

Do everything you can, community theatre, drama clubs, acting out scenes for friends and family, it all helps you get better!.

Acting classes are only as good as the teacher, no matter how much they charge!.

Get involved with everything you can, school plays, school concerts, sell tickets, do costumes, everything, get to really know what it's all about, all of it, not just the acting stuff!.

You cannot learn to act from books, you simply can't!. But look at an actor in a film, scene by scene, shot by shot, figure out what they do and why they do it, that will be much more help!.

Study Cate Blanchet, she's a great one to watch!. Then someone else etc etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What type of acting do you want to do!?

I'd first start with local or school productions!. You can learn some great acting basics that way!. You'll also get practical experience too, and it will cost less than classes!. Chances are, most of the other kids your age trying out for local and school shows don't have much acting experience either!.

Regardless, best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
