The point of a vocal audition is to hear you sing, no more and no less!. Don't plan out any sort of movement (if they want to see you dance or move around, there will be a dance or movement portion in the audition)!. Let your expressiveness come through in your face and eyes!. Pick a spot on the wall above and behind the auditioners and sing to that spot (if you stare the auditioners in the face, it subconsciously puts pressure on them to give you some sort of reaction, which will probably make them uncomfortable)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

pick an audition song that isn't used too much (examples- on my own from les mis, part of your world from the little mermaid, colors of the wind from pocahontas!.!.) pick a song that makes you stand out!. act the part!. move around of your character thnks it fits!. for ballads, move slowly and gracefully if at all!. just don't stays statue still!. and keep it professional!. work with the directors- they'll like you for it and appreciate your attitude toward the audition!. if you keep it real and do your best, it proves you can do that during show practices, which directors look for and appreciate!. good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just want to add:
Connect with your audience!. Pretend you are actually going through whatever the character is going through!. In real life you make facial expressions and gestures; acting is just exaggerating it a bit!. Just remember to have fun, enjoy the experience, and your audience will enjoy themselves as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Calm down, all the punctuation is a bit overwhelming!.

Act the song!. That dosen't mean make up your own all out dance and do it while singing!. Do arm movements, gestures, facial expressions, etc!. But don't just stand there!. You have to show the director and whomever else might be there that you got what it takes to get a part!. Sparkle!.
