study your role

when you act, your not your self anymore!. !. !.

make sure you completely transform into that character,

always have faith in yourself, of course you will be nervous, but acting should make you excited more than scared, if its a true passion!.

calm down and practice over and over and over again

i want to be an actress when i get older!.
im a frashman
and i just tried out for my first play, and i have a lead role!.
i have over 80 pages worth of lines to study by january 28th

you can do it! Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's really great to see that you're trying out for something new! So first, props to getting the nerve to try out!

1!. Relax! Try to modulate your breathing so that you don't begin to hyperventilate!. Like they say, always act like a duck: appear cool and calm on the surface, but paddle like hell underwater ;)

2!. Be prepared!. This is key with anything you do, whether it be trying out for a play, doing a debate, preparation is probably the most important thing!. It’s a bummer to learn all your lines at the last minute, trust me!. You’ll be kicking yourself in the butt after!. So learn your role until it becomes almost second nature to slip into your character!. Know it backwards and forwards; you can even get your friends to help by reading out the other character lines so that not only can you work on your memorization, but your actions etc!. Which leads me to…

3!. Your voice!. Make sure you project it so that even the people sitting in the way back can hear what you’ve got to say!. also, pay attention to how you enunciate your words!. If your character is suppose to have a foreign accent, practice it until it take no effort to speak like it!. My friends in theatre say that the art of looking effortless, takes a lot of preparation!.

4!. Be confident, but not cocky!. Modest, but not shy!. And most importantly, whatever happens at the end of the day, be proud of yourself for taking the risk and trying out for something you probably wouldn’t usually do! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You gotta have potential and confidence two key points in that matter!. Be self confident and pretend nobody is watching you and who cares what people say about you you do what you like and there will be people who like you for it but don't worry i was like that at first too when i was joining my school's drama club, but good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com
