Question: Tips to stay not-nervous at an audition!?
Here's the thing!.!.!. In approximately and hour and a half, I'm going to audition for my school play!. It's called "Alice in Concert"!.!.!. It's like "Alice in Wonderland" but it's a musical!. :D Anyway, I'm auditioning for the first time this year, but not my first time, and I can't wait! I really, really want to get into this play!. It seems like it would be so much fun and I didn't get into the last two plays I auditioned for!. I have a good monologue and a good song, but I get really nervous and speed up/go up an octave!. Any tips to stay on top, and not nervous!? I know it's "just an audition", but this means a lot to me!. I just memorized my monologue three days ago, and even though I think I have it down pat, I'm scared I'm going to mess it up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know how nervous you are!. I am always overly nervous and scared that i will mess my monologue!. I failed my first audition!. Received a minor role in second audition, which i was happy with!. In the third audition, i scored with one of the primary roles!. I didn't care if i wanted to be in a plane in the first audition!. In the second audition for the play, i was somewhat concerned, but in third audition i was overly concerned about making the cast, which i did and now preparing for it!. The thing is i was nervous beyond anything for all three auditions, but i gave it all i got in my third audition and was and still is so happy with it!. Suggestion: just look at the people around you during auditions - they are feeling the same, so there is no need to worry a lot about it!. I am not saying you should not worry whatsoever, but they are in same situation!. Just tell yourself "well they doing the same thing as i will be doing, so if they look like they are really nervous then why should i be nervous" Another thing is dont ever go last in audition because you will feel really pressured and actually volunteer to go rather than waiting for you to be called so you will feel encourage If you memorized and practiced for the audition with you heart you will be sure to be guranteed a role I wish you good luck and hope this helped

Warm up!. It's impossible to sing well or deliver a monologue powerfully when your body/voice is stiff and cold!. do some simple stretches while you wait, and make sure to do a vocal warm up in the car on the way!.

lastly, remember to breathe!. it's so easy to forget to breathe when onstage for an audition!. don't make that mistake--take deep breaths and use your breath control to speak/sing/dance more effectively!.
