Question: Any suggestions on audition piece for the musical "Go Go Beach"!?
I recently decided I was going to audition for my high school's upcoming production, "Go-Go Beach!." Here's the description of the show:

"Who wouldn't want to party on Go-Go Beach!? It's full of beautiful girls, cool surfer dudes,
and one runaway Hollywood starlet! It's reminiscent of the Frankie Avalon/Annette
Funicello "Beach" movies, with a dash of social consciousness, and plenty of laughs!. Set
in the 1960's, it's the perfect setting to fall in and out of love to the beat of an original
score inspired by the California sound!."

I really want to find a piece in the baritone range that will be appropriate for the audition and impress the judges!. Any suggestions!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey Lobsteh:

"California Girls" by the Beach Boys would be a good place to start!. You might need to lower the key just a bit, but it would show off a good baritone range, as well as the falsetto stuff that is that typical Beach Boys sound!. Woody needs to have that sound for the dreamy section of "Duke Kahanamoku's Roadsters and Jalopies", and one of the boys does too for the chorus stuff!. "Sloop John B" is a nice croony song, too!.

Don't fall into the "Hound Dog" trap!.!.!. Elvis is too 50s!. And not all Beach Boys is the same!. "Barbara Ann" is a great song, but an aggravating audition song!. Don't do anything from "Grease"!. This is 1966!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/1966_in_mus!.!.!.

Whatever you choose, don't worry about the role you're auditioning for!.!.!. pick a song that shows your range and do it in a key that best fits your voice!

BTW, where's the show!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
