Question: Barbizon Acting/Modeling school!.!?
Okay well earlier today one of the ladies from Barbizon called me and set up an interview with me for next week!. but I'm wondering is is really a 'scam' because most people say its a scam, but one of my friends said her cousin was in barbizon and she loved it!.

And about how much does it cost per class!?

No its not a scam, i go to a school just like it called John Casablancas!. The real reason EVERYONE thinks its a scam is because you have to pay money!. I know it's alot, my clases were like 2,000 or 3,000, but they weere/ARE defiently worth it!. I have never gained so much confidence in myself, plus my modeling and acting skills-(ike i had any before) are amazing!. I'm not that shy girl anymore, and being in front of ppl gets me excited!. If you really are serious about this industry i suggest doing it, going to my school changed so much in my life!. And the money is toatlly worth it, when you get an agent it's total smooth sailing from there!. You wont have to pay for anything :D!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't call it a scam because it's a school!. You pay for classes and get to take classes!. You pay for a portfolio and you get a portfolio!.
If you want to take classes in public speaking, pageant-type walking and posing, makeup applications, learn how to be more confident, etc tthen they are fine

But if you really want to be a model, then going to classes won't increase your chances!. An agency can't make you taller or affect your bone structure or facial features!. You either have the raw materials or you don't!. also, many agencies don't want girls who have gone to school because so often their walks and poses tend to be a bit unnatural and pageant-y and the agency has to unteach them too many bad habits!. I would check on the background of the instructors and find out what they have done in the industry and how long ago!. It would be interesting to see how many of them have actually done work with a legitimate modeling agency in the past - or if they've just been working at that school for 15 years with no real world fashion experience!.

You have to remember that schools will accept anyone willing to pay their fees, whether or not they have any modeling potential!.

But if you really want to model, you just need to attend free open calls at agencies like Ford, Elite, Wilhelmina, IMG, DNA, Click, Next, Women, Q, etc and they will be in touch if you have potential!. If they sign you, you'll never have to pay for classes, portfolio/comp card photography, registration, website listings or anything elseWww@QuestionHome@Com
