YES act like the character!
You have to give everything you have into your performance!
They arent going to think "Well, she 'kind of' was the dwarf, of course she wouldn't completely act like it seeing as this is only a call back!. We will assume she can do the full-on dwarf after we put all of our eggs in one basket and give her the part!"
Hehe, basically just be as commited to the character as badly as you want the part, if you really want them to know what you can do!.
If someone says "for your role, you have to act like you are being assulted by beavers", and your first thought was "do I have to really act like that, maybe i will just not do it as much", then maybe it means you don't want the part in the way that you thought you did!.
hope that helps! good luck Www@QuestionHome@Com

Great question! The biggest mistake actors make on callbacks is trying to tweak or improve on the first audition!. DON'T DO THIS!

They liked what they saw the first time!. What they want to do now is probably compare you with someone else they like!. Then they will make their decision!. Maybe they will like you, and maybe they won't, but if you change your routine they may absolutely hate it and it might make their decision very easy for them!.

Stick to your original performance!. It worked the first time!. What you may want to do is ask them beforehand if they have any constructive criticism for you!.

When you get a callback they will tell you what to act as, but generally yes you do act like the character because you are competing for the part against someone else!.

"High ho, high ho!.!.!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

Practice the lines they gave you!. That's what you will most likely be reading to them!. and yes, do it in character!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
