Question: Can you help me/Give some tips!?

Ive just been cast to be in the school production of Cherry Orchard!.!.!.

I have quite a considerable part, but because my memory is crap i struggle to learn lines, what can i do!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have acted for a long time and even had an agent in LA!. I also have trouble memorizing!.

You have to memorize not only your lines but the lines surrounding your lines so you know where you are when you actually SAY your lines!. The only way to possibly do that is:

Say them over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over!. Out Loud!. You might make a sound byte or old fashioned recording, but you still have to say them out loud and over and over again!.

This, Grasshoppa, is the only way to remove the script from the hand of the!.!.!.uh!.!.!.of the!.!.!.uh!.!.!.dang it! Where's that script!

okay what you need to do is read your lines one at a time!. Repeat that one line at least 20 times!. Cues are also very important!. Memorize the line that comes before yours so you know when exactly to say it!. also if you have a big paragraph read one of the lines in the paragraph and repeat those at least 20 times!.

Extra:
1!.When you go onstage!. Forget who YOU are!. YOU are no longer an actor!. You are your character!. That will help the audience believe your character more!.

2!. When onstage EVERYTHING must be rediculously larger than life and exaggerated!. And be sure to say your consonants very clear!. And project!.!. which means be loud clear and understandable:)

read them aloud over and over again!. practice with a friend!. move around while you vocalize the lines to develop a sort of association with the words!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
