Question: Should I Be Thanking my Director!?
I recently was cast as Lisa in Boys' Life at Indiana University of PA, my director is also my adviser!.!.we have a pretty good professor/student relationship, but I'm wondering if he'd find it odd for me to thank him for the role!. I'm so grateful and excited about this show, I just didn't want to over step my bounds!.!.!.what do you think!? Any help would be great!.

PS!. The man is totally British, too!.!.haha if that changes anything :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are are going to thank him, thank him for the OPPORTUNITY, not for the role!. If you thank him for the role, it sounds like he gave it to you for some reason other than your ability!. If you thank him for the opportunity, you are recognizing that what you do with it is up to you, but he gave you the chance!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say to hold of on the thanking!. It's fine to say that you're excited about working on the show, but thanking him for the part may seem as though you don't believe you deserve it!. It may potentially come across as a lack of confidence in your acting abilities, something you certainly don't want!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
