Question: Casting Director questions !!?
Im just wondering!.!.!. when a casting director gets a ton of submissions through mail for a movie/tv show do they actually read/look at every single head shot/resume they get!?

also, when you send something through mail to a different state how long does it usually take for a response!?

Each Casting Directors office is different but in general the staff or interns will sift through all the headshots/resumes many of which get submitted electronically via agencies!. They might also request an actors reel, especially if said actor is not a star or name yet but is known to be up and coming!.

Interstate mail usually takes around 3 days!. Do not waste your time or money sending headshots/resumes to casting directors in a different state!. They are not going to call you in, they'll just throw it into the recycling bin!. They expect professional actors who are being submitted for roles in whatever they are casting to be local to their offices, meaning in the same city!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

generally the casting direcotor gives specific guidelines of the type of person he wants and will list things like the height and weight of the person, the eye color, hair color, facial structure!. basically they already have an image in their head of who they want then the assistants look at each one and just show the casting director the few that fit most or all of the criteria!.

and out of state mail takes usually 1-7 days depending on how far away the address is and the mode of transport!. and the type of postage it had such as standard or priority, or overnight!.
