Question: Buying theatre tickets in London!?
You guys sound like the right bunch to help me, rather than putting it in the "London" section!.

I've never been to see a musical or a show despite having lived in London for the last however-many years!. I want to go and see one now!.

But!.!.!. how do I buy tickets!? I've done a search for the theatre but it's like there is no such thing as an official website, they're all just generic ticket sellers (with deliberately misleading names for their websites to try to look as though they're official) and seem to have marked up the price like crazy and have no good seats!.

Now I'm guessing these sites are aimed at tourists who don't know any better!. They have that "unlicensed minicab" feel about them!. I don't want to waste my money in the mistaken belief that this is the only way to get a ticket!. But how else do you buy one!? Is it even possible online or do I have to take time off work and go to the theatre itself (which seems like a right old faff)!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Check out Leichester Square!. You will find dozens of people selling tickets at established booths for discounted prices!. You know they aren't ripping you off because they call the actual theatre it plays at to reserve the seat for you!. The best way, however, is to go to the theatre the broadway is playing at and buy the ticket there!. You will get a better price and if its only a few hours before the show you might get a really good price and it could even been in the very front rows!. Be sure to see Wicked!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Google: half price tickets and you will get the details of the only legit half price booth in London!. It's in the middle of leicester square but they only sell tickets for the same day!. also go on what's on stage!.com and they always have special deals!. Seetickets is another good one but you pay a booking fee!. Or just go to the theatre box officeWww@QuestionHome@Com

Buy direct from the Theatre even on the day/night!.
I took an american friend to see Les Miz 14 years ago and got seats for £7!.50 each!. Better than the £25 per seat that the Kiosk people in Leicester Sq wanted!.
Tourists get taken for a ride in London! there is no need to get ripped off!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you go to Leicester Square there is a shop (near the Odeon cinema) that sells cheap theatre tickets!.They only sell tickets valid for that day and so the choice could be limited as it is tickets the theatres have been unable to sell themselves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
