Question: Have you read Romeo and Juliet!?
Act 1 Scene 1

How does this scene set the tone for the rest of the story!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
In Shakespeare's time the audiences were loud and obnoxious, so in order to get their attention he introduced the play with pun's galore!. I can't name any off of the top of my head but they were meant to grasp the audiences attention so they would be quiet and watch the rest of it because back then, rotten fruits were thrown!.

The rest of the scene was to introduce the two feuding families and just explain why it was how it was!.

I would say it sets the tone between the families but not between Romeo and Juliet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well it's the over-view!.!.!. so find the tone that's in the scene, and relate it to what happens in the rest of the story!. Sorry, you gotta find what it is out on your own though!. Otherwise, you won't learn it for yourself!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
