I am directing a play, and the two actors have to simulate sex, which can be a bit awkward for the actors if they aren't comfortable!. I have a few Icebreaker exercises, but I am looking for something a bit more specific to the scene!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: yes if you can firstly make them devise a scene a firstly around being together and making them have an argument they wil start to feel closer!. the closer they feel the more natural it will be!. If you want some actual excerises and tips you should try an type in on google improvisation excersies for actors and try all the difernt ones!. Hope this was some help to you,,XWww@QuestionHome@Com Hi Amy, My expertise is in Method Acting and within the technique we have various excercises to help the actor believe in their situation!. I imagine the issue the actors will have, is being comfortable being so intimate when they don't know each other that well!. This often happens on film sets as well, when the actors have just met but have to play intimate scenes!. The technique used by many of Hollywood's leading actors to help in these circumstances is the Method!. In your situation I would recommen the actor uses a personalisation!. This is when the actor super-imposes someone from their own life that they have been intimate with onto the actor they are working with!. They do this by using all their senses - the visual, smell, touch and sound of the person!. This will help the actor believe in their situation and feel comforatable in the situation as they will be recalling someone from their own experience that will make it easier for them!. We can only experience our own emotional life as actors so therefore it makes sense to use it where appropriate!. BrianWww@QuestionHome@Com What play is this!?
