Hi, i am interested in going to see Carmen with my family, however, my father is disabled so cannot sit for long periods of time - does anyone know the estimated running time of a live stage production of this Bizet classic!? thank you!. :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

The length really depends on the company and the director!. The last production I saw was about 3 hours long but there were 2 intervals,so really just 2 1/2 hours!.
Carmen is long ( 4 acts) but short compared to many operas!.
It's a great choice for an induction to opera! I once worked on a Wagner week-end with a 8 hours long performance!

Yes, up to 3 hours!.

If you're in the USA, the opera house is required by law to accomodate your dad!. They probably can arrange for him to have an area where he could recline, for example!. Contact them well in advance with your special needs!.
