I live in seattle and most of the time with these shows they will say before the production "Please no photography or recording"!. So it is illegal, i don't know what the charges would be, but id just say don't do it!. Have fun, that's one of my favorite musicals!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Without prior written permission from the company that owns the rights to Cats it is copyright infringement to video tape the production!. The producing company can also be sued if they know that you have a camera in the theatre!. Don't do it, the theatre probably pays 1/2 a dozen people to make sure no one is recording the performance!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never record a theatre production without permission from the production company!. I doubt you would get permission as most, if not all theatres ban recording of any sort!. Even if you did try it, ushers are always on the lookout for people trying to photograph or record shows, plus the people sitting around you would get very annoyed at you for disrupting their enjoyment of the show, so someone would tell a member of staff anyway!. There is nothing more annoying than people trying to record shows!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not illegal in the sense that you'll be arrested for doing so!. But it's against the rules that you technically agree to when you buy your ticket!. So, yes, they can throw you out!. Or they can ask for the tape and allow you to watch the show!.

But really, I know that tons of people do it anyways!. And in Seattle too! Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

Absolutely no recording, photographs, etc, of any kind are permitted at productions like that!.

You will get thrown out and possibly barred from coming again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That isn't allowed in Australia, unless you were given permission by the organisers of the event/show!. You shouldn't be doing it no matter where you are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's up to the individual production, but recording and photography is almost always forbidden!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well think of it this way:
its not illegal if you dont get caught lol
and if you do just say you didnt know
theyll let you off with a warning and your good
