keep reading plays!. the key in study is to break it down, like a script!. take a character part, examine their relationship with the other character(s) that they interact with as each scene develops, what are the ideas conveyed, feelings and purpose, through the scene, keep in mind the rhythm of the performance and dialog, the "arc "of the scene: the rising or emphasis in action and dialog!. also changes in delivery: does it quicken or slow like cars on a street, does it break abruptly or coast!. what are the main points in the scene and dialog, how are they emphasized or built up, do they lead you into another situation in the scene, do they build and flow into the next scene,,, do this for each scene to build your understanding of what you are required to do , and feel in response!.!. are they reasonable!. understand your characters feeling and thinking during all activities in each scene let your pauses be natural ones as you express your lines in a response!. consider the speed of the dialog and action in each scene for effectively moving your audience!. when you watch a play or movie notice how these factors affect your own responses to what you are watching!. these factors are used differently in many different works and genres on stage and film!. notice that actions are used differently on stage, where you are trying to reach the back of the house!. and more subtly on film, where your audience is closer and sees everything in detail!.!. to keep your acting craft at it's best, this has to be a part of your life, a priority!. when you are out somewhere ,take a little time to study interesting people of different sorts, imagine your self in their head and try to understand where they're coming from, how they're reacting and responding, and what they're responding to!.!. practice this regularly it will greatly improve your monologues at auditions, callbacks, and read through!. it will greatly enhance your abilities to react quickly effectively and more correctly for your character!. it will help to make you able to get the most out of the "sides" you are given, before your audition!. this helps you to slip into and for a time, become your character and you will find you haven't any room for nerves or butterflies, because you are focused and involved in being your characterWww@QuestionHome@Com
