Question:

In my acting class we are doing a fake soap opera!. it is not scripted and is completely random, but my character is a drug addict!. i noticed last week that playing a role such as that is quite difficult when you barely have the first clue!. i've noticed on tv its more abou the physical aspect and denial, but your not gonna deny when nobody asks you!. so can anyone give me ideas for drugs in general and if you can give me things for specific drugs that would be great as well!. thanks :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Marijuana, act slow, giggly!. Stereotype phrases are 'like, man' 'far out'!. Treat even light conversation seriously and consider your responses before answering!.

heroin, scratch your arms!. Be paranoid!. Ignore questions, lose focus!.

Speed and coke, be a bit hyper!. Same for ecstacy except everything is wonderful!.

Research some films!. Dead Presidents shows Chris Tucker in a non comedic role coming back from Vietnam with a heroin addiction!. Requiem for a Dream shows a variety of addictions, mostly heroin but also abused over the counter medication!. Dazed and Confused has a bunch of kids running around in mid 70's Texas, mostly on marijuana!.

Take a look at the characters, the portrayals are very accurate and should give you an idea of what various highs look like!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
