Yes, entertainment is always important!. Live theatre is important in the same way that film and TV are important, and for reasons that are even bigger!.
1!. Entertainment, as I said the ability for people to slip out of their own world and into another is always needed!.
2!. Education, just like film and TV, not only do we enjoy it, but we can learn so much from it!.
3!. History, the history of theatre throughout the world is incredibly important!. It is important to respect and understand where theatre has come from and what it has done for civilization!. (explains such as the Greeks and Romans, Shakespeare, Ibsen etc)
4!. Live theatre brings something into our hearts and our lives that cannot be fulfilled by films, TV, radio, sports, newspapers, or books!. All of these medias have something wonderful to offer but none can ever replace live theatre!.
