Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Elmer Hopkins in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever?

Question: Elmer Hopkins in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!?
OK,so I just got cast as Elmer Hopkins in "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at my local community theatre(I would've gotten Ralph or Leroy, but the director casted her son(Who incidentally can't act) and his best friend(Who also can't act) in those roles), and I have a few questions!. OK,so I saw the movie a while back and read the book, but I don't really remember Elmer much!. I know what his character is, but is it a very big part!? Does he have quite a few lines!? Or is he just one of those people with one scene and two lines!?lol also, ho man scenes is he in!? Any tips on character development for him!?
I'd really like to know so that I can do the role nicely, so thanks to anyone who helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I was in the play last year, had a blast!. Didn't have a big part (lol, understatement) but it was still a lot of fun!. Anyway, back on topic!. I don't recall Elmer having a whole lot of lines, but enough that you have an actual name, so kudos! lol Basically just a neighborhood kid and also the preachers son, if you grew up in suburbia it shouldn't be that hard to get the role down!. He's in all of the group scenes (i!.e!. the role assigning, the pageant itself, etc!.) Beth tells Charlie that you'll pay him a dollar to be Joseph in the pageant because he always is cause his dad is the preacher, lol!. Just something I remembered!. Anyway, no matter how many scenes your in, or how many lines you say, just have fun with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
