Question: Please help (Broadway/ dancing)!?
Hello!
Alright, so I am a thirteen year old who sings and acts!. Acting is my passion, and for someone with no vocal training, my voice is amazing [sorry, not to sound braggy or anything, I'm just saying that I'm not just mediocre, I actually am good]!. It is kind of my dream to be on Broadway, but I have no dance experience, and I know that dance is kind of important with Broadway!. I would like to start dance this year!. I am very flexible, have great rythm [with singing and stuff] and I learn very quickly, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to pick up on the dance routines fast enough!. Is there any site or something to help me see if i can keep up in dance!? Like, i don't know, a routine i can memorize now, just to see how i'll do!? also, can you get agents for musical theatre [in a state that has few major theatres]!? One more q, what should I take to prepare me for musical theatre!? Jazz, ballet!.!.!.!?
Thank you all for your help :)

-And if you're gonna say that i'm stupid for dreaming of B'way, don't!. At least I'm not one of those kids asking about how i can get on the Disney Channel!. And I really do have the talent and ambition to make it far [wow, that sounds sappy, hahaha]!. I will never sleep again if that's what it takes!. LIke I said, this is my passion!. Thanks again!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, you certainly have confidence!.

Look into dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, contemporary, perhaps street or tap - depending on whether you're more likely to look at modern shows or traditional!. Both, if you can!. I'm not a dancer, but several friends are, and picking up routines is, I'm told, something that comes with practice!. The more classes you do, the easier it'll come, so don't worry about that now!.

As well as classes, see if there are performance opportunities in your area for school/community shows - specifically LOOK to be ensemble!. I'm sure you want to be a star, but see if you can get the experience of ensemble/dance work!. Work on your weaknesses!.

You're not stupid to dream! If nobody ever dreamed, nothing would ever get done!. Now you know your dream, you're doing the right thing in looking seriously at how to actually achieve that!. You now need to be realistic, practical, and dedicated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
