Question: Didn't make the school play!?
I have been dancing since I was 2 and I didn't make the school play (dance tryouts, not acting)!. There are two dance studios in my town and my friend told me the one I go to ( and have been going to since I was 2) teaches "fake dance"!. She said the other one is more strict but they teach "real dance"!. I want to go to the other one but how do I approach my parents about it!? And how do I cheer my self up!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, you should not let what someone else said about the other studio get you down!. It is already such an accomplishment that you have been dancing for so many years!. If you enjoy dancing at the the studio you are currently at, there is no reason not to stay there!. If you are considering switching studios, go check out the other one!. They probably allow prospective students to check out their classes!. If it is a more serious atmosphere, and you think that you will benefit from it, go for the switch!. But only do it because you are comfortable with it, because you should dance only for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I totally know how you feel, everyone gets cut at one time or another!. I've had leads in 7 shows, and just recently I didn't make a show!. It doesn't mean you aren't talented, it just means you weren't necessarily needed or fit for any of the roles!. I know this sounds corny and typical, but it's true!. Keep trying, ask anyone on Broadway and they will tell you that there was some time in their life when they DIDN'T make a show!. Keep acting, the more you practice, the better you get!. Perhaps try reciting a monologue to yourself every now and then, and make sure to do versatile pieces!. Good luck in all your acting achievements :) Www@QuestionHome@Com
