Question: Bye Bye Birdie the musical!?
O!.k, so this year out school chose bye bye birdie to be the musical!. I have a few questions (o!.k more like alot of questions) to ask, so please answer for as many points as I can give you!! Thanks so much!

Plot- The plot is basically Rosie loves albert and has been with him for 8 years!. Albert owns a music industry, but makes little money!. He really wants to be an english teacher!. They come up with a money making scheme to make money so that Albert can quit the industry and marry Rosie!. The biggest star at the time is on Albert's label!. Conrad Birdie is going to be going to the army soon!. They decide that they will choose at random a girl from his fan club!. He will go to her hometown, perform and kiss her, and this will make a lot of money for the couple!. Kim MacAfee was the lucky winner!. She has recently become "pinned" to Hugo Peabody!. Hugo is very jealous about Conrad and Kim's intended kiss!. Throughout the play, Rosie is getting more frustrated with Albert as he is refusing to get married!.
In act 2, kim and rosie decide to leave hugo and albert!. Conrad decides to go out and live before his last night before he goes to the army!. He ends up in the local "ice house" or the date area with Kim!. When Albert and Kim's parents find out, they create a gathering of many towns people to go to the ice house, where all the teens are smothering Birdie!. Albert begs rosie to come back to him, as she has decided that she is better off without him (spanish rose)!.
Int eh end, both couples fall back in love, conrad goes to war and Albert takes a teaching job!.

There's the Rosie/Albert love story!. As in most musicals, true love does not run straight, so there are lots of comedy obstacles to be overcome!.
There's the Conrad Birdie going into the Army thing!. Reminicesent of Elvis Presley going into the Army of the late 50s/ 60s era!. There's his manager's idea of putting Conrad on the Ed Sullivan Show!. Running a contest for some lucky teenager to win the contest of going on the Ed Sullivan Show, and getting one last kiss from Conrad before he goes away!. To represent all the teens who will miss Conrad while he's gone!.
The girl who wins the right to kiss Conrad on TV is Kim, who has a somewhat jealous boyfriend, who doesn't want her to kiss Conrad!.
Then, there's Kim's parents who would go to New York to meet Ed Sullivan!. And her little brother who is really into science experiments!. I remember a turtle going at warp speed because of a formula this kid fed him!. And, lots of teenagers!.
In the movie, I forget who played Conrad Birdie!. Rosie was -(I think) - Janet Leigh!. Albert was Dick Van Dyke!. Kim was Ann Margaret!. Paul Lynde was her Dad!. He and Albert;s mother did a hoot of a duet called "What's The Matter With Kids Today!?"
Dance!? Something from the 1950s or so!. Rosie is an older woman, Kim a teen!. I think maybe Kim's part is the more interesting!.
